Call for Manuscripts

The Confluence Journal of Library and Information Science (CJLIS) invites submissions of original, high-quality academic manuscripts for its upcoming volume. CJLIS is a rigorously peer-reviewed publication dedicated to advancing the theoretical, conceptual, and empirical understanding of information in society. We seek to foster a dynamic discourse that bridges traditional library science practices with emerging information and data management technologies, exploring the critical junction or confluence where information creation, organization, dissemination, and use impact individuals and communities globally.

Scope and Areas of Interest

We welcome contributions that address contemporary challenges, innovations, and foundational theories across the spectrum of Library and Information Science (LIS). Submissions should offer novel insights, robust methodologies, and significant implications for research or practice. Topics of particular interest include, but are not limited to:

  • Information Organization and Retrieval: Taxonomies, ontologies, metadata, linked data, knowledge organization systems, and the application of AI/Machine Learning in search and retrieval.
  • Data Science and Curation: Data management, research data lifecycle, open science principles, data literacy, and the ethical implications of big data.
  • Digital Libraries and Preservation: Digital collection development, long-term digital preservation strategies, institutional repositories, and digital humanities applications.
  • Information Behaviour and Literacy: Studies on information seeking and use across diverse populations, critical information literacy, and the impact of misinformation/disinformation.
  • Social Justice and Equity in LIS: The role of libraries in promoting social equity, intellectual freedom, privacy, accessibility, and community engagement.
  • Emerging LIS Technologies: Blockchain, virtual/augmented reality (VR/AR), and generative AI in library services, operations, and user experience.
  • Management and Administration: Strategic planning, leadership, assessment, and the future of LIS education and professional development.
